The Congregational Life Team of Highland Presbyterian Church is called to encourage and aid the participation of members of all ages in the life and ministry of the church through fellowship.
When the church cares for its own members, we use the word "ministry." This distinguishes our work in and with the world, defined as mission. One of the ways we "minister" to one another at Highland is through regular fellowship activities.

Game Night
On one Saturday evening (often in March), we provide childcare (usually through a Youth Group fundraising opportunity) and gather as adults to play! Board games and card games break out and we've ev
en been known to play a little "Name that '70's song, men versus women, the crazier the better" game.
Holy Week Light Lunch
During Holy Week, after our prayer services in the sanctuary, participants gather in the dining room to break bread and enjoy soup together. This time is very helpful as we move through Holy Week and our darkest hours in preparation for the joy of Easter morning.
Adult Luau
At a member's home, all adults, who are brave enough to find childcare on their own, gather for a summer kick-off Luau. This event has yet to become "annual" but as the word gets outs, you better pull out your grass skirts, your Hawaiian shirts, and your coconuts!
July 4th Weekend
Each July 4th weekend, we have a "Jazz Communion Service" involving local musicians, followed by a potluck picnic at Highland North.
PresFest
Our annual block party/church celebration is held on the last Sunday of the summer vacation for JCPS schools. On this afternoon, after worship, we block off part of Highland Avenue,
fire up the grills, sno-cone and popcorn machines, inflate a children's "Bounce," fill water balloons for the soaking booth (any volunteers on a hot day?), and a cake walk to live music. And if that's not enough, we invite the neighbors to celebrate our presence, church and community, together in the Highlands community!
