Member Care

"Above all, maintain constant love for one another;
Be hospitable to one another without complaining;
Serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received"
1 Peter 4:8-10

The Congregational Life Team of Highland Presbyterian Church is called to encourage and facilitate members of all ages to participate in the life and ministry of the church through member care.

Care to the members of our congregation and beyond, is carried out daily in many ways! The congregation and church staff work together to coordinate how we can best practically and graciously give and receive care in the name of Christ.

  • Providing counseling and various referrals as needed.

In our member care at Highland Presbyterian Church we seek to celebrate our joys together and to share the heavy burdens of grief and loss. We strive to keep the lines of communication open, so that members in need can receive the spiritual, emotional and physical support that we can provide for one another. We are all blessed over and over in this giving and receiving of God's love and care through us.

Stephen Ministry

Member CareStephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring relationships, those who are hurting receive the love and care they need to support them.

A Stephen Minister is a lay person who has received 50 hours of training in how to provide distinctively Christian care. Our Stephen Ministers meet with their leaders monthly for confidential, ongoing supervision and continuing education.

For more information about Stephen Ministry go to www.stephenministries.org or call Kristy Hubert or Joel Weible at 451-2910. New training classes will begin January, 2007. Please refer to our News Headlines for current details.

"Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2)
