Stewardship

"Let all that you do be done in love."

"Stewardship" is one of those "churchy" words that isn't used much in ordinary conversation. It means being faithful and responsible stewards of all that we have received. God gives us all we have and are, and asks us to give back to God through faithful stewardship. The Bible talks about a tithe -- 10% -- and stewardship isn't just about money. It's also about our use of time. What part of our time do we give to God through service to people in need? Stewardship is about talents. How do we share our gifts? Stewardship is about our imagination and creativity. It's about our intellect. It's about how we turn our grief and disappointment into an offering to others who are experiencing grief or disappointment. It's about how we share our love, our friendship, our compassion. Are 10% of your gifts going to God's work? Do you need to increase your giving of time, talents, and financial resources? "To whom much is given, much will be expected."

At Highland Pres we believe that every person is called by God to practice good stewardship of time, talents, money and experience.
